IES Las Sabinas :: El Bonillo

This 3rd Term, our students from 4th ESO have taken part in an eTwinning project, Bridging Cultures II, with other students and teachers from different European countries (Spain, Poland, Italy and Turkey). The project has enabled students to establish cultural and linguistic bonds as well as to improve their English language skills through Web2 tools with different tasks from February to May. It has contributed to enlarge our cultural awareness by valuing our different backgrounds.

First of all, we studied the rules of netiquette and e-safety in an attempt to create legal resources and look for verified information with their own poster. Then, everyone was uploaded into the eTwinning platform to be able to keep in contact with their partners. At this stage, they have designed their logos and updated their profiles in the platform.

In March, all students have designed their own promotional videos about the school, their country and their towns where they have shown the most interesting facts about our cultures with the edition program CapCut. Not only that, as it is a cooperative project, everything will be done in groups fostering respect and tolerance values. All videos have been watched in our online meeting with our partners from Turkey as the creation of transnational teams were the most important part of our project. In addition, we have shared a Kahoot! and a Padlet with some of our questions. It was a great and unforgettable experience!

At the end of April, our students have continued working, they used platforms such as Adobe New Express and Plotagon Studio to record some videos about famous people and curious traditions of our country. They are amazing! Let’s have a look at them!

Finally, all students have contributed to an eMagazine where we have shared some of our festivities and also we have all together written an acrostic poem with one sentence each high school. I have also included some of our tasks below. Let’s have a look at them!

The inclusion of these projects will be really beneficial to our students, they will meet other students from totally different backgrounds, understand their values and respect their traditions, learning to work cooperatively. Furthermore, they will represent a link for our future Erasmus+ projects.

¡Hoy hemos celebrado el Día del Libro por todo lo alto!

Durante el recreo, el Hall del instituto se transformó en un auténtico escenario medieval gracias a la decoración artesanal que ha preparado el Departamento de Lengua. ¡Un viaje en el tiempo digno de trovadores!

Entre plumas, pergaminos y escudos, hemos presentado “El códice del saber perdido”, un proyecto colaborativo de 3º de ESO que ha dado forma a un libro colectivo inspirado en los códices medievales. ¡Creatividad e historia de la mano!

También hemos recibido la ilustre visita de Santa Teresa de Jesús, Fray Luis de León y San Juan de la Cruz, quienes han dejado sus sabias palabras… ¡y hasta han firmado autógrafos!

Y, para los amantes del misterio, no podía faltar nuestra actividad estrella: “Cita a ciegas con un libro”. Cada participante ha recibido un préstamo sorpresa de la biblioteca, envuelto con mimo y elegido según sus gustos lectores. ¡Ha sido un flechazo literario para muchos!
